We went to the beach today, Biloxi on the coast of Mississippi.   There are no beaches worth going to around here.   100 miles to sun and sand.  Grande Isle is the only “beach” of significance, ugh!    Tar beach!

We had to get the van ready for the trip by buying new tires.   I couldn’t trust the ones on the vehicle, especially when Erika will be using the van when I go offshore this weekend.

I didn’t stay long in the water because I knew I’d get toasted.    Everyone got in except Franz.  He just waded up to a point and ran back to the sand when he heard Erik screaming “Jellyfish!”.  Erika even swam which was a shocker for me.  She usually just likes to bask in the sun.   We all had a good time even though we didn’t get too far out in the water.   The beach there is pretty shallow for hundreds of feet out.

After we go out the water we ate across the street at the Cajun Chicken Buffet.   That was a mistake.   Comparing the price of the meals to the quality of food, the is a w-i-d-e gap.  The only thing they couldn’t mess up was the soft-serve ice cream.

Getting our stomachs full we decided to go to the mall at Edgewater Beach. That turned out pretty interesting.  The kids got on a rock climb.  Dakota and Erik naturally were the most adept at climbing.  There were EASY, MEDIUM, HARD, and EXPERT climbs.  No one was able to finish the EXPERT climb and too bad because if they had they would have gotten $50 !
